AC Service Phoenix, AZ

AC Service in Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix is an amazing city with gorgeous weather and plenty of opportunities.  The only downside to the Silicon Desert is that it gets incredibly hot in the summers.  Having your cooling system working is a summertime necessity.  Worlock Air Conditioning can help.  Whether you need a pre-season service call, general maintenance, repair, or even a new system, Worlock has what it takes to keep you cool.

Pre-Season Maintenance

While pre-season maintenance calls cannot guarantee you a trouble-free summer, they are the best way to spot problems before they happen.  By making sure that your air conditioner starts the season out running well, clean, well-oiled, and with no broken or damaged parts, you greatly increase the chances of it working properly all summer.  That is why Worlock Air Conditioning recommends that all homeowners have their cooling systems inspected and maintained before the heat of summer really begins.

What all is involved in a maintenance call depends on the type of cooling system you have.  Different types of cooling systems function in different ways, so they have different maintenance needs.  For example, if you cool your home with a ductless mini-split system, no one is going to check your ducts in a service call.  In addition, different manufacturers set up their machines in different ways.

That said, there are some basics to a pre-season maintenance call.  For most air conditioners, a thorough maintenance call includes:

  • Cleaning the evaporator coils
  • Cleaning the condenser coils
  • Testing the thermometer
  • Inspecting and combing the fins if airflow is blocked
  • Inspecting and oiling the motor
  • Inspecting and oiling other moving parts
  • Replacing worn, damaged, or old belts
  • Replacing air filters
  • Checking the ducts for leaks and sealing leaks
  • Testing for coolant leaks, fixing leaks, and recharging coolants
  • Testing the thermometer
  • Testing and cleaning electrical connections
  • Inspecting and cleaning the condensate drain

While we replace air filters as part of our routine maintenance calls, you should be replacing filters regularly throughout the year.  Once a month is a general rule for how frequently you should replace your filters, but if you leave your doors or windows open frequently, have a lot of pets, or have allergies, you should replace them more frequently.
